GANDHI’S CONDITION
LITTLE CHANGE RECORDED BUT INCREASING WEAKNESS. REPORT AFTER MEDICAL EXAMINATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) BOMBAY, February 19. According to later statements the expression “sinking,” in a reference to Gandhi’s health, is incorrect. His doctors, after a detailed examination in the afternoon, reported little change in his general condition except “increasing weakness.” Gandhi’s sleep was broken because he was troubled by excessive salivation. Nevertheless he was a little more interested in his surroundings. His mind is a little clearer and his mental alertness better than it was yesterday.
