WEDDING

WOOLLETT—GOILE. A pretty wedding of local interest took place at St. John’s Church, Ohakune. on January 30, when Hazel Freda Commins, daughter of Mr and Mrs Goile, Ohakune. was married to Keith Edwin, elder son of Mr and Mrs G. Woollett, Solway. The Rev. J. V. Joblin, vicar, officiated, and Mrs Edwards presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a frock of delphinium blue, with hat and shoes to tone. She carried a posy of white carnations, gypsophlia and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs Jackson, as matron of honour, and Miss Evelyn Symons as bridesmaid. They were attired alike in prune shot taffeta and carried posies to tone. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Sapper Ron Woollett, as best man, and Private Mac Johanson (brother-in-law of the bride) was groomsman. A reception was held at the King's Court Hotel, where Mrs Goile, assisted by Mrs Woollett received the guests. They were attired in navy blue and air force blue dresses respectively, and wore shoulder sprays to tone. Later when Mr and Mrs K. E. Woollett left for the south on their honeymoon, the bride travelled in a powder blue ensemble with navy accessories. An setter wedding party was held on Saturday, February 6, at Solway, the home of the bridegroom’s parents when a number of friends gathered to wish Mr and Mrs Woollett good luck and also to say farewell to Mr K. E. Woollett who has entered the navy, and has since reported for duty.
