A BETTER WORLD
WANTED FOR ALL MANKIND CHINA’S IDEALS. A WARNING TO AMERICA. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.29 p.m.) NEW YORK, February 18. Madame Chiang Kai-shek addressing a joint session of the United States Congress, warned America of the danger of allowing Japan to remain in possession of resources in occupied countries. The Japanese juggernaught must be broken but peace must not be punitive in spirit but universal in scope, and humanitarian in action. China, like her other allies, wanted a better world for all mankind. It was not enough to proclaim ideals .or even be convinced that they should have them. They should throw all they cherish into their efforts to fulfil them. They should risk failure and not accept it, for man’s mettle was tested both in adversity and success.
