GREYTOWN

RED CROSS SOCIETY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. ' ' - (“Times-Age” Special.) , A meetipg of the executive of the Greytown Sub-centre of the Red Cross Society was held last night. Mr A. W. Horton was in the chair. Two letters of thanks were received, one from a returned soldier and the other from a family which had recently been burnt out. A donation of £lO from a' Shetland Island resident, and £8 from the McCarthy Trust Fund were acknowledged, as well as £2 2s from the Wairarapa Farmers’ Association. It was decided to fall into line with each sub-centre supplying cakes to the Hospital. The date of the annual meeting was fixed for Wednesday, April 14. Personal. Mrs W. Everett has returned from a holiday spent in Palmerston North. Bowling. A start will be made on Saturday with the Greytown Bowling Club’s champion rinks. As all members are included, a full attendance is desired, sharp on time. Croquet. Owing to the wet weather the postponed half-hour tournament will be held on Tuesday next. TOWN HALL DOUBLE FEATURE BILL. Tonight’s excellent programme will be headed by two outstanding features —“Parachute Nurse” (an exciting drama, featuring William Wright, Kay Harris and Marguerite Chapman) and “North From the Lone Star” (a story of the wild west, with Bill Elliott in the principal role).
