HEADQUARTERS AT SFAX BLOWN UP REPORTED REMOVAL TO BERLIN. RAID BY AMERICAN BOMBERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) NEW YORK, February 17. It is confirmed that American bombers blew up General Rommel’s headquarters at Sfax, wounding him seriously, says the North American Newspaper Association’s Tunisian correspondent. Rommel was taken to hospital in Tunis and was flown from there to Berlin. EARLIER REPORT SUCCESSOR NOT KNOWN. LONDON, February 16. Reuter’s correspondent in North Africa says it is reliably reported that Field-Marshal Rommel, is in Germany seriously il. He flew to Berlin from El Al Ouina aerodrome, near Tunis, some time ago. The identity of Rommel’s successor in Tunisia is unknown.
