MAORI INTERHOUSE TEAM

DANCE IN MASONIC HALL LAST NIGHT. There was a large attendance of dancers at the Masonic Hall last night, when a dance was held in aid of the Maori interhouse team which is going to the march and drill display at Wanganui at the end of the month. As a result of the dance a substantial amount was raised towards the team’s expenses. Mrs Ashton’s orchestra provided the dance music, and extras were contributed by Miss B. Hawke. The M’s.C. were Messrs L Askew and J. Bruce. The winners of the Monte Carlo waltz competition were Miss I. McDiarmid and Mr E. Compton. Three songs contributed by Miss Waireka Nini, leader of the Maori team, proved very popular and were warmly applauded. Supper was served by members of the team, assisted by a ladies’ committee
