LORIENT AGAIN
HEAVY AND CONCENTRATED ATTACK FIGHjTER AIRCRAFT ASLO BUSY. COMMUNICATIONS & TRANSPORT SUFFER. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) RUGBY, February 17. The Air Minister states: “Last night our bombers made 'another heavy and concentrated attack on Lorient. One enemy fighter was shot down by the bombers. “Fighter Command aircraft attacked enemy communications and transport at many points in France, Belgium and north-west Germany and destroyed an enemy aircraft. Two of our bombers are missing.” ST. NAZAIRE RAID ACCURATE BOMBING REVEALED. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) RUGBY, February 17. Photographs show that the Germans suffered from accurate bombing at St. Nazaire on Tuesday, in spite of enemy opposition, which makes St. Nazaire one of the “toughest, in the book.”
