PROPOSED WIDENING OF QUEEN STREET. APPLICATION FOR EXPERT’S 'SERVICES. A proposal to widen Queen Street was referred to at last night’s meeting of the Masterton Borough Council when the Mayor, Mr T .Jordan, said he had made application to the Department of Internal Affairs to have the services of Mr J. W. Mawson, town planning expert, made available to the council. Mr Jordan said the council could learn much from Mr Mawson’s experience. However, said Mr Jordan, it would be the council that would make any decisions. If Mr Mawson’s services were available, the meeting which was set down for next Tuesday might be postponed for a short time to enable councillors to meet Mr Mawson when he inspected the area involved in the proposals,
