INTERHOUSE DISPLAY
VISIT OF MAORI TEAM TO WANGANUI. DANCE IN MASTERTON TONIGHT. The Wairarapa Interhouse Association Maori girls’ team will hold a dance in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, tonight to raise funds to pay the team’s expenses bn its visit to Wanganui for the interhouse drill and marching display. The girls are stated to have been in hard training for the event, and it is expected that they will give a good account of themselves. At the dance in the Masonic Hall tonight, the music will be supplied by Mrs Ashton’s orchestra, and patrons are assured of an enjoyable evening. Supper will be served by the girls’ team, and novelty dances will be held. Referring to the visit of the' Maori girls’ interhouse team, the “Wanganui Herald” states that the team has proved a great draw wherever it has appeared, because, in addition to the high standard of the team’s marching, it is made up of girls of Maori ancestry. It will be the first Maori girls’ team to have appeared at Wanganui in the marching display.
