The Middle Park Plate, run at a matinee meeting at Riccarton on Saturday, was won by Botany (Didham), who beat King Herod by a neck, with Foxleap Junior next. Hurry Home (Messervy) easily won the Irwell Handicap from his two opponents, Rout and Paper Lily. There were eleven starters in the Lyttelton Plate, and Arustra (L. J. Ellis) led throughout and won decisively from Langne d’Or, with Stavros and St. Nattan next.
