WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. RED STAR & OLD BOYS WIN. The Wairarapa Cricket Association’s senior championship matches were continued on Saturday when Red Star beat Wairarapa College and Old Boys secured a win over Air Force. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP RED STAR V COLLEGE. On the College ground Red Star defeated Wairarapa College on the first innings. Scores:— Red Star, 9 wickets for 160 dec. (Rew 28, Mahoney 25, Davis not out 23, F. Hoar 18, Wysocki 17, Williams 16; O’Brien 5 for 54, Sweeney 2 for 37, G. Masters 1 for 30). Wairayapa College 118 (Liver 51, G. Masters 27, Hayes 22; F. Hoar 8 for 32, Rew 1 for 13, Davis 1 for 21). OLD BOYS v AIR FORCE. GOOD BATTING. On the Masterton Park, Old Boys defeated Air Force by 4 wickets, some good batting being displayed. Scores: Old Boys, 6 wickets for 189 (W. Whiteman 43, Jones 41, A. Whiteman 37, O’Reilly 34, Young not out 15; Peak 2 for 35, Slight 2 for 62, Burton 1 for 21, Milne 1 for 27). Air Force 175 (Burton 53, Avery 40, Milne 21, Barrow not out 12, Killick 10; A. Whiteman 4 for 42, Stevens 2 for 40, Trapp 1 for 6, McMichael 1 for 20, Jones 1 for 41). The Army cricket match, Northern v Central Districts, played at Wellington, was won on Saturday by Northern by two wickets. Northern scored 77 and 8 wickets for 314 (Hook 96, Postles 55) and Southern 136 and 254. POSITION OF TEAMS The following are the positions of the teams up till and including last Saturday’s games:—
