NEW ZEALAND DIVISION

■ ▼ MARCH PAST AT TRIPOLI MR. CHURCHILL’S REFERENCE CHEERED IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, February 11. “1 saw thousands of New Zealanders, who, with a comparatively small portion of their vast equipment of cannon, tanks, and techncal vehicles, took one and a half hours to march past,” said Mr Churchill, referring in the House of Commons to his visit to Tripoli. From New Zealand’s point of view one of the high lights of the speech undoubtedly was Mr Churchill’s references to the New Zealand Division, which he inspected in Tripoli. It can be observed that Mr Churchill invariably takes opportunity to refer to the New Zealand Division in the House of Commons. He made reference to it last year when General Freyberg was wounded, and the House applauded as warmly today as it did then when its name was mentinoned. It is certainly interesting and heartening to hear immediate applause by members of the House of Commons when the name of New Zealand is mentioned.
