GANDHI’S FAST

Mr Gandhi, who is 73 today, began a twenty-one days’ fast at the Aga Khan’s palace near Poona, where he has been detained since August 9, as a sequel to correspondence with the Viceroy in which Mr Gandhi repudiated a suggestion that the Congress Party was responsible for murders and sabotage, which he blamed on the Government.
