WEDDINGS
LEE—CUNNINGHAM. The marriage took place yesterday afternoon at St. Matthew’s Churofe.. Masterton, of Katharine Marjory, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. Cunningham, 39 Renall Street, Masterton, to Eric Walter, only son of Air and ’ Mrs F. W. Lee ,of Hataitai, Wellingl ton. The ceremony was performed by . the Rev. H. Taepa, who officiated at his 1 first pakeha wedding. Mr Miller Hope , presided at the organ. Misses Ethel - Rutherford and Pamela Heffer were ■ responsible for the very effective floral I decorations in the church. The bride was given away by her t father. She looked charming in a i frock of ivory satin, cut on close fit- ! ting lines, with a smock bodice and a .’ long train. Her tulle veil was surmounted by ‘a coronet of ivory velvet : roses. She carried a shower bouquet - of white gladioli, begonias and carna- : tions, with maidenhair and asparagus ■ fern. Miss Dorothy Lee, sister of the : bridegroom, was bridesmaid. She wore t a frock of pale blue taffeta, cut on ■ medieval lines and carried a sheaf of ; salmon pink gladioli, pink hnd white • carnations and maidenhair and aspara- ■ gus fern. Mr John Cunningham, brother of the i bride, was best man. < L The reception was held at the resi- ' dence of the bride’s parents, Renall Street, where the guests were received by Mrs Cunningham and Mrs Lee. The former wore a wedgewood blue ensemble with navy-coloured accessories and carried a posy of rose-tinted carnations and gladioli Mrs Lee was attired in a frock of deep rose, with hat to match and her posy was of lilies to tone. Sergeant and Mrs Lee left later on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a teal blue ensemble, braided and scalloped in front with rosettes, and navy accessories. KENNINGS—PALMER. The Presbyterian Church, Masterton, was beautifully decorated for the recent marriage of Isobel Ella, ypungest daughter of Mi’ and Mrs A. H. Balmer,
Master ton, to Ralph Stewart, only\son . of Mr and Mrs S. E. Kennings, Auckland. The Rev. McNeur officiated and Mr Kerry presided at the organ. X The bride, who was escorted by hejA father, looked charming in a frod® featuring a deep bodice of white with low neckline, and a / tulle skirt forming a small/train, lovely three-quarter veil/was held m}' 1 place with a top notch of flowers and! she carried a shower bouquet of rosesb and carnations. / n The bride was attended by her sis- liter, Miss Joan Palmer, 'and Miss Madge X Kennings, twin sister of the bridegroom. Both wor/ duckegg blue taffeta frocks with 14ce yokes and carried shower bouquets'to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr R. Sinclair, of'Auckland, as best man, and Pte. lan Mackie, Second N.Z.E.F., as groomsman. A reception was held later in the Savage Club rooms, the guests being received by Mrs Palmer, who was attired in a turquoise blue ensemble. She was assisted by Mrs Kennings, who was dressed in a navy blue ensemble. Both wore shoulder sprays to tone. Later when Mr and Mrs R. S. Kennings left for the north, the bride travelled in a powder blue ensemble with cranberry accessories. There future home will be in Devonport, Auckland.
