NOTED RUGBY LEAGUE PROMOTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) .(Received This Day, 12.25 p.m.) LONDON, February 8. The death has occurred of Mr J. H. Houghton, aged 86. One of the bestknown men in Rugby League circles, he was known as “Uncle Joe.” He took the first English Rugby League team to Australia and New Zealand in 1910 and the second in 1914. He attended matches until a week before his death.
