OBITUARY
MR A. E. E. ROBINSON. The death occurred at Richmond, • Nelson, on January 10 last of Mr A. E. E. Robinson, eldest son of the late Captain E. A. Robinson, and grandson of the late John Perry Robinson, a former superintendent of the Province of Nelson. His wife who predeceased him three years ago, was the eldest daughter of the late Charles and Clara Parker, of the Wairarapa. He was for many years with the firm of Messrs Pitt and Moore, Nelson, but relinquished that position when he married, and engaged in farming in the Wairarapa district. After the death of his wife, he retired to Richmond and resided there until his death. He was a staunch member of the Church of England, and in his early life was a lay reader and superintendent of All Saints’ Sunday School in Nelson. While in the Wairahe was a lay reader and superintendent of the Parkvale Sunday School; also a member of the Church of England Men’s Society. On his re-
turn to Richmond he again became a
lay reader and superintendent of the * Holy Trinity Sunday School. While in the Wairarapa he was a director of the Parkvale Cheese Factory. The funeral took place at the Stoke Cemetery. Archdeacon Haultain, assisted by the Rev. Charles Scarfe, conducted the service at the residence and at the graveside. The Bishop of Nelson, the Rt. Rev. P. W. Stephenson, joined the mourners at the graveside. The late Mr Robinson’s mother, Mrs Ellis; his sister, Mrs Strachan; his brother, Mr Claude Robinson, and sister-in-law, Miss G. Parker, are left to mourn their loss. The many floral tributes testifying to the esteem in which he was held included wreaths from the congregation of St. Mark’s Parish in Carterton, and from the Holy Trinity Sunday School, Richmond.
