DESTRUCTION OF JAPANESE PLANES. (Bv Telegraph—Pi-ess Association— Copyright) WASHINGTON, February 6. A Navy Department communique states:—“ln the north Pacific on February 4, United States planes destroyed a Japanese plane during reconnaissance Five enemy float planes bombed United States positions in the western Aleutians, but no damage was done. That night Liberator heavy and Mitchell medium bombers, with fighter escort, bombed Japanese positions at Kiska. Three of five float-type Zeros, which intercepted, were shot down. All the United States planes returned.”
