GOOD FOOTHOLD

ON THE SEA OF AZOV. GAINED BY THE RUSSIANS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) RUGBY, February 7. A Soviet midnight communique reported that a good Russian foothold had been gained on the Sea of Azov, by the capture of half a dozen places south and south-east of Yiesk, along the northern shore of the Boisug Inlet. Three more districts west and southwest of Stary Oskol and Novy Oskol were captured.
