The death occurred at Martinborough on Saturday of Mrs Mary Jane Ritchison, widow of Mr John Aitchison, at the age of 80 years. At the Greytown Hospital on Saturday the death occurred of a wellknown resident, Mr John Thomas Blissett, at the age of 83 years. At the Pahiatua Hospital on Friday, the death took place of Mrs Agnes Robertshaw, wife of Mr W. Robertshaw, at the age of 63 years. Mr J. Robertson, M.P., has just concluded a tour of the northern and eastern portions of his electorate. He visited Eketahuna, Tiraumea, Pongaroa and Makuri. Their Excellencies ' the GovernorGeneral and Lady Newall, attended by Major C. J. Holland-Martin, returned to Wellington from the South Island yesterday and have resumed residence at Government House. Among a party of sick and wounded personnel of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force who recently returned to New Zealand were: Private L. J. Blackley, next-of-kin, Mrs Blackley, 91 Villa Street, Masterton (m.); LanceSergeant K. D. McCalmont, Mr W. D. McCalmont, 125 Cole Street, Masterton (f). Mr J. E. Ricketts has been elected president of the Wellington Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association in succession to Mr E. E. Brooking, who has established a record for the associations throughout Australia and New Zealand by holding office for four consecutive terms.
