——* CARTERTON SALE, IMPROVED LAMB PRICES. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson & Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yesterday: An exceptionally big yarding of sheep and pigs came forward. Prices for lambs were slightly better than those ruling at the Masterton sale on Wednesday, and a total clearance was effected. A yarding of 453 pigs came forward and with the exception of weaners, which were easier, a total clearance was effected at late rates. The following are some of the realisations: —Sheep: Fat lambs 21/-, 21/1, 23/, 24/- to 24/3 ; light fat lambs, 19/- to 19/6; fat wethers, 22/7, 23/- to 23/9; fat ewes, 9/-, 9/7 to 10/-; b.f. lambs, 17/-, 17/10, 18/- to 18/10: medium b.f. lambs, 13/9, 14/7, 15/10, 16/2 to 16/4; small b.f. lambs 7/2, 7/3, 8/9, 10/6, 11/8, 12/6 to 12/8; good w.w. lambs, 13/- to 14/-; medium w.w. lambs, 10/- to 11/6; small wether lambs, 6/7, 8/2, 8/5, 8/10, 9/- to 10/-; shorn wether lambs, to 10/6; medium w. ewe lambs, 11/10 to 13/-; small ewe lambs, 7/1, 9/1, 10/1 to 10/10; 2-th ewes, to 24/-; f.m. ewes, 5/2 to 7/4; cull lambs, 3/6, 4/4, 5/1 to 5/10. Cattle: Springing heifers to £9; heifers just calved to £B-vealers, to £3/5/-; fat cows, £5/2/6, £5/17/-; £6/6/-; £7/19/- to £B/11/-; forward cows, £3/14/-, £4, £4/9/-; £4/19/-; store cows, £2/10/-, £2/17/6- to £3; c°'Y s and calves, £4, £6/10/- to £B/5/- \ P.A. cows, to £6; bulls, £4/10, £4/15, £6/10, £7, £7/10 to £9. Fat steers, to £lO/10.
