OF SUPPLIES FOR NORTH AFRICA PROVIDED BY BRITAIN. PART OF CONVOY DIVERTED. LONDON, February 5. Of all the supplies so far sent to North Africa, Great Britain has provided at' least half. This was disclosed by the United States Lease-Lend Administrator, Mr Stettinus. He said the British had diverted part of ‘a convoy bound for another war zone to relieve the food shortage in North Africa. Between them', Britain and the United States had sent' 50,000 tons of food and other non-military supplies to North Africam. Shipments from Great Britain included wheat, flour, meat, sugar and soap. Milk especially had been given out to children.
