BOY SCOUTS ENJOYABLE CARD PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The weekly card party held by the Boy Scout Committee in the Band Room, Carterton, on Wednesday evening, was well attended and was greatly enjoyed by those present. The prizewinners were: Ladies, Mrs. O’HalIqran 1, Mrs. J. Brown 2; mens section, Mrs. Thompson 1, H. Goodin 2. Bowling. Two games were played on the Carterton bowling green last evening, with the following results: — DeLacey Buttons: Newbould and Kilmister (s) holders, lost to Daysh and Colsin (s), 21/20. Progressive Pairs: Clark and Sorensen (s) beat Foss and Hughan (s), 29/14. On account of the Air Force concert on the Showgrounds tomorrow afternoon play will not commence on the bowling green till 3.30 o'clock. Earthquake. A slight earthquake was felt in Carterton yesterday afternoon just before three o'clock. Air Force Band. The band of the New Zealand Air -Force will play a programme of music on the Carterton Showgrounds tomorrow, commencing at 2.30 p.m. sharp. Permission has been granted by the Air Force Board for the band to give a performance in Carter ton. The proceeds will go toward the quota of the district patriotic fund. A musical treat is promised. Personal Items. Mr. H. O. Peters, who has been in charge of the ironmongery department at the Carterton branch of the W.F.C.A., Ltd., has been transferred to the branch at Pahiatua. Cubmaster lan Martin is attending a meeting of Cubs at Seatoun. REGENT THEATRE DOUBLE PROGRAMME. The present splendid double feature programme will be finally shown tonight. “Down Mexico Way” is a typical western drama featuring Gene Autry and Smiley Burnette, while “Unholy Partners” is a thrilling picture with Edward G. Robinson, Edward Arnold and Laraine Day in the leading roles.
