MORE SURRENDERS

GERMANS AT STALINGRAD. AND ON VORONEZH FRONT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.10 a.m.) RUGBY, January 28. A Soviet night communique indicated that the Russians have reached the River Oskol and are 50 miles east of the vital Kursk-Kharkov railway. The communique also reported that the Russians have reached a point 65 miles south-eastward of Rostov, while, driving from Tuapse, the Russians are 20 miles south-west of Maikop. In central Stalingrad 3350 men, including a whole regiment, surrendered. On the Voronezh front an encircled army group numbering 5000 surrendered after a short battle. A Moscow message says only 8500 Germans are keeping up their resistance at Stalingrad.
