BLOWN BACK ON JAPANESE HUNDREDS OF ENEMY TROOPS KILED IN SHANSI. CHINESE OFFICIAL REPORT (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) CHUNGKING, January 27. The Japanese attempted to use poison gas against the Chinese in southern Shansi Privince, but the wind changed, gassing their own ranks and killing hundreds of men, states a Chinese communique. Japanese bombers attacked the Chinese positions, but most of the bombs hit the Japanese lines. A Japanese offensive in northern Hupeh was repulsed with 1300 casualties.,
