SALE AT ADDINGTON LATE RATES FOR BEST LAMBS. DROP IN STEER BEE? RECOVERED. (By Telecraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. January 27. A large; entry of store lambs from North Canterbury, South Canterbury, Marlborough and North Otago met with a good sale at Addington tody. Best lambs sold up to last week's rates and medium and inferior' advanced by 1/- a head. Last week’s drop of 25/- a head in steer beef was recovered and there was also a rise in prices of cow and heifer beef. Fat wethers showed little change, but overfat and unfinished ewes were not in demand. • MASTERTON SALE. DEMAND FOR LAMBS. The Associated Auctioneers report as follows on their weekly sale at Masterton yesterday: There was a fair attendance of buyers. The yarding in the sheep section consisted mostly of lambs, of which b.f. predominated, the quality of which was better than last week, and showed a hardening tendency for the tops, while medium and culls were on a par with late rates. Top white-face met with good competition, while medium sorts remained on the same level as last week. A fair yarding of cattle was offered and sold at satisfactoy prices. The following will indicate values:—Fat Sheep: Ewes, 12/-, 11/3 to 9/2. Stores: 4-th wethers, 21/-; 2-th wethers 18/6; b.f. lambs, 18/8, 18/-, 17/9, 17/6, 17/4, 16/6, 14/7, 13/-, small 9/8; w.w. lambs, 17/-. 13/-, 11/8, small 10/6, 8/10; w. ewe lambs 14/7. Cattle: Fat bullocks, £2/12/6; fat heigers, £B/14/-, £B, £7; fat cows, £B. £7/17/-, £7/10/-; store bullocks, £lO to £6/19/-; store cows, £5 12/-, ex dairy £5; 2-yr S.H. steers, £7/10; P.A. steers, £7/6/- to £6/7/-; 2-yr. P.A. heifers, £6/10/-; 18-month P.A. steers, £6 10/-; small £5/6/-, £4/10/-; P.A. cows and calves, £B/5/-, £7/18/-, £6/10/- to £6.
