SERVICE WITH THE ARMED FORCES i ' No. 2 BOARD SITTING. APPLICATIONS FROM FARM WORKERS. The No. 2 Armed Forces Appeal Board (Napier) at its sitting in Masterton yesterday dealt with appeals chiefly relating to farm workers. Then?, were present: Messrs. H. 8,. (chairman), F. R. Field and W. H. Barry (members of the board), J. C. Corbishley (secretary), J. S. Wauchop (Crown representative), and Lieut. F. H. Goldfinch (liaison officer). In the following list of cases the name of the person lodging the appeal is given in parentheses:— Adjourned sine die: Rex Scott, farm hand (W. R. York); Keith Stuart McMaster, farmer (reservist); Desmond C. Hawke, farm hand (Mrs. E. Hawke); Frederick R. Tucker, cheesemaker (Greytown-Wairarapa Co-op. Dairy Co.). Adjourned: Stanley W. J. Hodder, farmer (Hodder & Sons); Victor H. Gates, farm hand (Ernest L. Gates);' Gordon C. Tombs, farm hand (Robert T. Olivier), to May 1, 1943. Service postponed: William F. Whiteman, cheese factory hand (Director of National Service) to May 1, 1943.
