Mr and Mrs F, Joplin and Miss Patricia Joplin, of Island Bay, are the guests of Mr and Mrs A. Forsberg, Mauriceville. The death occurred yesterday at Wallaceville of Mr John Haddy, father of Mrs C. Clarke, Martinborough, at the age of 84 years. Mr A. O. Keisenberg, secretary of the Health Department, who is to visit Australia with Mr H. Digby Smith, at the invitation of the Federal Government, to explain to the Australian authorities the New Zealand Social Security Act, is a son of Mrs E. Keisenberg, Dixon Street. Masterton. Among the candidates who passed the matriculation examination and also the medical preliminary was Rayma Phillpotts, a pupil of the Gisborne High School, who is a daughter of Mr and Mrs R. A. Phillpotts, Gisborne, and a granddaughter of Mrs Phillpotts and the late Mr Arthur Phillpotts, Coradine Street, Masterton.
