AIR FORCE BAND

COMING DISTRICT VISIT PROMOTION OF ENLISTMENTS. SEVERAL' PUBLIC APPEARANCES ARRANGED. Considerable interest is being taken in the visit to the Wairarapa this weekend of the Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force. On its arrival in. Masterton on Friday afternoon, the band will leave the station at 2.15 p.m. and march through the main streets of the town. On Saturday the band will make two appearances in Carterton. In the afternoon it will assemble at the State Theatre and march to the Showgrounds, where, commencing at 2.30 p.m., it will give a ceremonial display and open air concert. In the evening, the dance band section will play the music for a patriotic ball to be held at the State Theatre.

Two performances are to be given in Masterton on Sunday, the first in the Park in the afternoon\and the second in the Regent Theatre in the evening. The main purpose of the band’s visit is to promote enlistments in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force and the Air Training Corps. Many Masterton residents remember the pleasure they derived from the band’s previous visits to the district and are looking forward to again hearing this very fine musical combination.
