Miniature Cloud Burst.

A miniature cloud burst over Masterton yesterday afternoon was responsible for a downpour which drenched gardens and filled water tables to overflowing. The town creeks rose quickly and in some cases flooded lawns and gardens. After an hour or so the level of the creeks dropped to normal. Members of the Borough Council staff were busy this morning cleaning up the debris left on footpaths and kerbsides by the storm water. It is reported that only a slight fall of rain was recorded outside the Masterton borough. A number of people weie caught in town without overcoats and they had to take shelter until the rain ceased. _____
