REGENT THEATRE

“BADLANDS OF DAKOTA.” Presenting one of the most talented casts ever assembled in an outstanding Western picture, “Badlands ol Dakota” will be shown this evening at the Regent Theatre. The stars are Robert Stack and Ann Rutherford with Richard Dix, Frances Farmer, Brod Crawford, Hugh Herbert, Andy Devine and Lon Chaney in the supporting cast. The story is noted because of the fact that it embraces a colourful period of the history of the West. The discovery of gold in the Dakota territory, the founding of Deadwood City and the shooting of ‘“Wild Bill” Hickock are vividly dramatised. The trouble with the Sioux that led to the fateful ambush and massacre of General Custer and his regiment are graphically pictured. Against this background is the love story of Robert Stack and Ann Rutherford, with Brod Crawford and Frances Farmer adding complications. The story is full of excitement and thrills. A matinee will be held tomorrow at 2.15 p|m.
