WORKING BOTH WAYS. POSITION OF NEW ZEALAND & AUSTRALIA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORY, January 23. The Washington correspondent of the “Herald-Tribune” says authoritative British quarters predict that the lend-lease scales will be evenly balanced at the end of the war in New Zealand and Australia, where the bulk of the 'food consumed by the American forces is supplied from the Dominions' farms, and lend-lease “in reverse” is in full swing with the New Zealand and Australian populations on reduced rations in order to supply the American fighting machine.
