REGENT THEATRE
■» “ALOMA OF THE SOUTH SEAS.” Topping their memorable performances in ‘‘The Hurricane,” Dorothy Lamour and Jon Hall return to the screen of the Regent Theatre tonight in “Aloma of the South Seas.” Filmed in technicolour, the story is thrilling and romantic. Jon Hall, the son of the island chief, was betrothed to Dorothy Lamour during their childhood, according to the customs of the islanders. After a ten-year absence to secure an education in the States, Jon returns home to claim his bride-to-be and to prepare himself for his future duties as chief. But he is unprepared for the treachery planned against him by his envious, unprincipled cousin. Dorothy Lamour finds herself torn between her returned hus-band-to-be and the cousin. An exceptionally good- first-half includes “India in Crisis,” and the latest “March ,of Time.”
