“DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS.” “Deep in the Heart of Texas”' and “Ellery Queen and the Perfect Crime” will be finally screened tonight. “ALOMA OF THE SOUTH SEAS.” Topping their memorable performances in “The Hurricane,” Dorothy Lamour and Jon Hall return to the screen of the Regent Theatre tomorrow in “Aloma of the South Seas.” Filmed in technicolour, the story is thrilling and romantic. Jon Hall, the son of the island chief, was betrothed to Dorothy Lamour during their childhood, according to the customs of the islanders. After a ten-year absence to secure an education in the States, Jon returns home to claim his bride-to-be and to prepare himself for his future duties as chief. But he is unI prepared for the treachery planned against him by his envious, unprincipled ccusin. Dorothy Lamour finds herself torn between her returned hus-band-to-be and the cousin, Philip Reed, the man she thinks she loves. Their triangle bf tropic love turns to stirring melodrama. An exceptionally good first-half includes “India in Crisis,” the latest in the “March of Time” series. A matinee will be held tomorrow when the first episode of the new serial, “Don Winslow of the Navy” will be screened.
