MILITARY SPORTS

ARRANGED AT WANGANUI. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, This Day. The first move in the Dominion to hold, a military athletic and cycling championship sports meeting has been made by the West Coast Centre of the New Zealand Athletic Association, which has its headquarters in Wanganui. The meeting is to be held in Cook’s Gardens, Wanganui, on February 20. Two representatives from each military and R.N.Z.A.F. unit in the centre’s area extending to Waitara, Horopito and Otaki, will be accepted. The meeting was not arranged earlier because lighting restrictions prevented the use of the grounds at night. The meeting will be for an afternoon and night, a centre official stated today.
