SCHOOLS IN NORWAY BECAUSE PARENTS & TEACHERS DEFY NAZIS. ALLIED INVASION AWAITED EAGERLY. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, January 19. ■ All Norwegian schools have been closed since. December 1, ostensibly because of a fuel shortage, but actually because the Nazis cannot control rebellious teachers and parents, }vho go to prison in preference to sending children to Nazified schools. This was revealed by ' Mr Harald Landi, a Norwegian teacher who is now lecturing in America, He said: “Prior to the closing down of schools there were persistent strikes by pupils and teachers, hundreds of whom were gaoled. The Norwegian spirit is unbreakable and the people are eagerly awaiting an Allied invasion.”
