WAR TIME BRITAIN
SUPERBLY ORGANISED - MR R. G. CASEY’S TRIBUTE CHURCHILL AND ROOSEVELT IN DAILY CONTACT. NAZI PROPAGANDA EFFORTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) CAIRO, January 19. “During my trip to Britain and America, I found Mr Churchill and President Roosevelt in daily contact, while relations betWefen the two Governments were very close and friendly,” said Mr R. G. Casey (British Minister of State in the Middle East), on his return to Cairo. “Axis propaganda is going full bore in an attempt to drive a wedge into the British-American friendship,” the Minister added, “but few are affected by this propaganda in either country. It is greatly exaggerated.” Mr Casey glowingly picture war time Britain, which was superbly organised for the war effort, with sacrifices spread over all sections of the population, with the result that there was no more democratic country than Britain, where, from the humblest to the richest, life and eating were very simple.
