HELPING RUSSIA
CANADIAN GENEROSITY. MEETING IN MONTREAL TODAY. The Canadian Aid to Russia Fund is shipping twelve car loads of clothing and hospital supplies to Russia. Contributions collected to January 9 amounted to 662,000 dollars, with a total of 35,000 individual subscriptions. The campaign, which opened in November, was promoted in a hundred communities across the Dominion. Eighty-five local committees were established working with the National Committee. Mrs Franklin D. Roosevelt will be the guest speaker for the Fund mass rally in Montreal today. On the platform were the Prime Minister, Mr W. L. Mackenzie King, Mr Malcolm MacDonald, United Kingdom High Commissioner in Canada, Premier Godbout of Quebec, and M. Feodor Gusev, Russian Minister to Canada.
