“SWAMP WATER.” Perils of alligator-infested swamp lands, where snakes among ' other things add to the dangers, are strikingly illustrated in “Swamp Water.” a gripping story which will be shown tonight. The territory affords cover to a hunted man until this freedom, of its kind, is disturbed by an intruder. “Swamp Water” is a masterpiece of power and breath-taking suspense such as has seldom been attained in modern fiction and screencraft. It begins in brooding mystery and terror; it progresses in plot and hate and violence; it ends in sunshine, freedom and love, and the restoration to a long-divided community of happiness, peace and progress. Romantic, melodramatic, mysterious and decidedly out of the ordinary, “Swamp Water” was a particularly popular best-seller as well as a sensationally successful serial; virtually every motion picture company in Hollywood vied in their efforts to purchase this motion picture property, the most discussed story of the year. The two most famous character actors in motion pictures, Walter Brennan and Walter Huston, head the cast. Dana Andrews and Anne Baxter are the romantic leads, with Mary Howard and Virginia Gilmore also adding to the romance. John Carradine, Eugene Pallette, Guinn Williams, Russell Simpson, Mae Marsh, Ward Bond, Joseph Sawyer and Paul Burns are also in the cast. At the matinee tomorrow afternoon another instalment of “Terry and the Pirates” will be shown.
