ANTI-FASCIST ITALIAN WRITER SHOT DEAD IN NEW YORK. ASSASSIN ESCAPES IN CAR. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) NEW YORK, January 13. Carlo Tcesca, aged 60, internationally known as an anti-Fascist writer, was shot dead as he walked out of the Fifth Avenue offices of the anti-Fascist Italian newspaper, “11 Martello.” The assassin fired several shots at close range and escaped in a car in a brown-out. The police believe that the murder was politically inspired.
