Carlo Tcesca, aged 60, internationally known as an anti-Fascist writer, was shot dead as he walked out of the Fifth Avenue offices of the anti-Fascist Italian newspaper, “11 Martello.” The assassin fired several shots at close range and escaped in a car in a brown-out. The police believe that the murder was politically inspired.
