Fat lambs and best fat sheep sold well, and a big entry of store lambs maintained recent values. Lamb values xanged from 14s 3d to 24s Id. The highest price for fat wethers was 425, and for ewes 28s lOd. , t Fat cattle values were down by 25s to 30s a head, or an average of 3s to 3s 6d per 1001 b. The porker yarding was the largest this season, and values were about 5s to 6s a head below last week’s figures. Values were better all round by about 10s a head; average price 61d to 7jd per lb. MASTERTON SALE BRISK COMPETITION. INCREASE IN LAMB VALUES. The Associated Auctioneers report as follows on their weekly sale at Masterton yesterday, —There was a good atI tendance of buyers. Although the weather was boisterous at times, the bidding was brisk. Lambs predominated the yarding, black faces making an advance in value by at least Is 6d, and white faces by 2s to 3s in cases. The following are the prices:—Fat wethers, 21s, 20s 19s, 18s; fat ewes, Ils 6d, 10s 6d, 10s, 9s 6d; fat lambs, 22s 7d, 21s lOd, 21s. Stores: B.F. lambs,"lBs 9d, 18s 6d, 17s lOd, 17s 6d, 16s lOd, 16s; w.w. lambs, account M. D. McGregor, 17s 6d; w.w. lambs, account A. M. Porkers, £2 3s, £2. f • f PAHIATUA SALE PIG PRICES EASIER. . Undrafted woolly lambs topped the weekly Pahiatua sale at 17s lOd but several lines dragged badly. Most of the lots offered were in good condition. The average was better than that seen at earlier sales but the rise’ of 3d only in top prices reflected a fear of dry weather. Southdowns were scarce and found a ready market at 16s. The bulk of an offering of 4000 lambs changed hands at prices between 14s 6d and 16s. Shorn lambs brought 16s 3d.
