CLEARING SALE. DISAPPOINTING PRICES. The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report having held a clearing sale on account of Mr J. G. Wingate, on his property at Opaki. There was a good attendance and the stock came forward in fair condition. Due no doubt to the fixture being held somewhat early in the season, the prices realised were disappointing. The following are the prices: Aged ewes, 14s to 9s 3d; younger ewes, 19s 2d; frit ewes, 10s 3d; 2-th wethers, 19s 7d; b.f. 2-ths 17s 6d; w.f. ewe lambs (small) 13s 6d; shearing flock S.D. rams, s;fgns, 4gns, 3Jgns; 2-sh. flock S.D. rams, 3j| gns to Signs; m.a. flock S.D. rams, 3 gns; flock S.D. ram lambs, 31s; house cow, £8; 5-yr draft gelding all work, £l7, draft mare aged, all work, £11; 5-yr hack gelding broken saddle, £l3; 2-yr draft gelding (broken to lead), £6 10s; -i draft ylg. filly (broken to lead), £4; 1 aged draft gelding, all work, £l5; 6-yr hack, £25; 6-yr hack. £l5. Implements sold well at ruling rates.
