, EUCHRE PARTY ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a fair attendance at the euchre party held in the Services Club last night, and a most enjoyable time was spent. The .card winners were: Mrs S. Kinsey 1. Mrs McKenna 2. The consolation prizes, which were won by Mrs A. W. Edwards and Mr McGuinness, were donated by Mrs M. Baker. A competition was won by Mrs Kinsey. Personal items. Corporal Phyllis Allender, East•bourne, Mrs Heydpr, Miss P. Heyder, Miss M. Nix, Flying Officer J. Mekerney, Masterton, and Sergeant G. Rhodes, were weekend guests of Mr and Mrs C J. Nix, Tauherenikau. Mr and Mrs Davis, Ngaio, have returned home after having spent the weekend at Featherston. Mrs M. Kiddie, has returned to Carterton after having been the guest of Mrs F. O’Neale, Hickson Street. Misses Patricia Neville and Paddy Browne are the guests of Mrs Dobson, Petone. COSY THEATRE •“49th PARALLEL.” The chief picture at the Cosy Theatre tonight will be the outstanding drama, “49th Parallel, ’ which is a thrilling story dealing with a Nazi submarine crew. The principal roles are taken by George Olivier, Leslie Howard, Raymond Massey, Anton Walbrook and Eric Portman. It is a picture which can be thoroughly recommended and which patrons should not fail to see.
