BIGGEST IN HISTORY
LATEST UNITED STATES WAR BUDGET INTRODUCED BY PRESIDENT. OUTLAY OF £27,000,000,000. LONDON, January 11. President Roosevelt today introduced the biggest Budget in the history of the United States, for 27,000 million pounds. It provides for a maximum programme for waging the war and paves the way for the expansion of United States armed forces necessary for offensive operations, the production of food and munitions and the construction of ships to strike at the enemy wherever he may be.
In the coming year the United States will mobilise six million more people for the armed forces and for Avar production. President Roosevelt again referred to the need for post-war security and economic stabilisation.
