WIDE SWEEPS

OVER NORTHERN FRANCE MADE BY BRITISH FIGHTER SQUADRONS. ONE AIRCRAFT MISSING. LONDON, January 11. Squadrons of Spitfires today flew over Northern France and swept the Bfrom Dunkirk to Abbeville. One e is missing. TWELVE PEOPLE KILLED *v * IN RAID ON ENGLISH TOWN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, January 10. Three of a family of four were killed in the worst raid that has yet befallen a south-west coast town. The only survivor \is the husband, who is seriously injured. Raiders came in, machine-gunning and 1 bombing, and badly damaged working-class dwellings and two apartment houses on the seafront. Altogether 12 were killed. Others were injured and a number are missing.
