FLAXMILL WORKERS
SOME TO BE RELEASED
FROM CAMP.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Minister of Defence (Mr Jones) states today that in order to supply essential labour for the flaxmilling industry, the War Cabinet has approved the release of suitable soldiers who volunteer for flaxmilling work. Practically all classes of flaxmill workers are required for the industry and men offering for the work will be released after consideration of each case by the unit commander concerned and the district manpower officer. Mr Jones said that in view of the great importance of this industry, it was hoped that experienced men would volunteer for work. Release from military duties would be subject to the interests of the unit in which men were serving.
