BRITISH FLYING=BOAT LOST AT LISBON
DISASTER DURING TRIAL RUN.
ONE SURVIVOR OUT OF 15 ON BOARD.

Fourteen of the 15 occupants were killed when the British Airways fly-ing-boat. Golden Horn, exploded and caught fire in mid-air and crashed and sank in the river Tagus at Lisbon, in Portugal. The plane was making a trial run after repairs.
The 15 aboard comprised the plane’s commander, Captain Lock, four British members of the crew, and two members of the ground staff. The rest were Portuguese, consisting of two stewardesses, the wife of a British Airways employee, a customs officer, a taxidriver, and two boatmen employed by the company, who were taken for a trip. The only survivor was the wireless operator.
