Mrs J. Graham, of Pahiatua, has returned home after a holiday spent in Masterton.
Mrs W. Dalrymple, of Masterton, is visiting her mother,_ Mrs J. J. Beech, Tiraumea Road, Pahiatua.
Mr E. G. Amoore sub-editor of the “Waikato Times,” Hamilton, is visiting Masterton .arid is staying with his sister, Mrs A. Hausman.
The death occurred this morning of Mr John George, of Roger’s Lane, Masterton. The late Mr George had resided in Masterton for some time past. The funeral will take place on Monday. The Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, last night announced the following changes in the command of the New Zealand Forces:—Brigadier A. S. Falconer, C.8.E., D. 5.0., M.C., E.D., who recently returned from the Middle East, is to take over command of a division, in the place of Major-General A. S. Wilder, D. 5.0., M.C., V.D., who is to assume command of the Ist Division in place of Major-General H. E. Barrowclough, D. 5.0., M.C., who is again overseas.
