KAIPARORO

DISTRICT GATHERING I — SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED. ('.‘Times-Age” Special.) A very large crowd was present in the Kaiparoro Hall last Wednesday evening to entertain Private Phil Henson, of the New Zealand Tank Brigade, and Sgt. Pilot E. KevWey, of the Royal New Zealand Air Force. The hall was well filled, and a most enjoyable time was spent by all present. The music for the dancing was supplied by Messrs K. Braddick (accordion) and N. Dick (drums). Messrs R. Dick and K. Isakson acted as M’s.C.

Before the supper interval, presentations were made by Mr C. Burton to each of the guests of a well-filled wallet, while the mothers of Pte. Henson and Sgt. Kewley were each presented with a beautiful bouquet. Mr G. Hansen presented cigarettes to soldiers present. Personal. Mr and Mrs D. Jillitt, of Trentham, were the guests of the latter’s parents, Mr and Mrs Alex Falkner, during the New Year. Mr and Mrs Ken Olivant spent the New Year in Kaiparoro. Mrs M. Hansen, Mt. Bruce, is visiting relatives in the Pahiatua district.
