BUCHANAN HOME INMATE

DEATH OF MR J. A. BENTON.

INQUEST TO BE HELD

The death occurred at the Buchanan Home, Greytown, this morning, of Mr John Arthur Benton, at the age of 66 years. An inquest will be held this evening. It is stated that Mr Benton appeared to be in his usual state of health at about 6 o’clock this morning but when visited twenty minutes later he was found to be in a bad way. Medical aid was called but his condition was such that he died shortly afterwards. It is stated that death was thought to be due to poisoning. The late Mr Benton had been an inmate of the home for the past few weeks, and previously had lived for a period in Mastqrton, Greytown and Featherston. He was unmarried. The funeral will leave Mr H. Trotman’s premises, Greytown, on Friday, January 8, following a service at 2 p.m., for the Greytown Cemetery.
