Bad Weather Hindering Activities ON BOTH NORTH AFRICAN FRONTS AIR ATTACKS ON ENEMY BASES z . . LONDON, January 5. In Tunisia, Allied aircraft and artillery have destroyed between 12 and 15 enemy tanks out of a force which attacked the French positions at the southern end of the front. A French counter-attack also inflicted casualties on the enemy. A North African communique states that Allied aircraft yesterday attacked railway yards 30 miles from Sousse. Chenchera was also attacked by Allied bombers and fighters. Fighters made a sweep over part of the area. Four enemy aircraft were destroyed when the enemy attacked one of the Allied aerodromes. Two Allied planes are missing' from yesterday s operations. Earlier reports stated that bad weather was still hampering operations in the northern sector. Better weather in the south had enabled the Germans to make strong efforts against the French, but so far these attacks have been held. French forces from the Chad area are -being hampered by bad weather in Southern Libya. Fighting continues between motorised forces and the enemy. In Libya severe sandstorms are holding up air operations. There is nothing to report on land.
